I have a 15 week old pullet Brahma and a 14 week old pullet Sultan together outside in a mobile coop.
I have 1 cream legbar pullet and 1 speckled sussex straight run that are together in my garage. I just moved them from a big
storage box to a dog crate so they can see their surroundings. They are however, still in my garage.
When I get home from work, I open the garage door and also I let the two older ones out of their run so they can free-range around. The two older ones have discovered the 2 little ones in the crate in the garage. Now all they want to do is hang out and peck around the dog crate. It's cute that they want to be around each other but now I'm concerned about timing for getting them together.
From what I have read, I can't put them together until they are all about the same size, so probably not for another 5 weeks or so.
Is that correct? Am I ok to keep letting the older ones in the garage to hang out with the younger ones or should I keep the garage door closed so they don't see one another?
