I have 4, 4 week old ducklings inside right now under a heat lamp. They are starting to feather in nicely. Right now the daytime temps are in the 60s and 70s and the nighttime temps are in the 40s. Can I move them out to the coop without a heat lamp? My coop is insulated and I have my older hens and ducks out there too. The coop usually stays at least 5 degrees warmer than the outdoor temp at night. Thanks for the help!!

The general rule of thumb is 90 degrees F the first week, dropping 5 degrees a week, so 4 times 5 is 20. 90 minus 20 is 70. That is the target temperature for four week old ducklings, 70˚F.

Another concern I would have is the other animals. Ducklings frequently get attached by older animals. Will they be in their own section?
