When to put them outside

My brooder is in the coop. I've put them in there straight from the incubator with the outside temperature below freezing. As long as there is one spot in your coop that is warm enough it doesn't matter how cold the rest is. They will go to the warm spot when they need to. This is with mine straight out of the incubator, yours are a lot older. I don't think you need it but if you want to warm a spot for them you certainly can.

I use a heat lamp but have a suggestion. Wire it into place so there is no way it can fall. Do not use that clamp, it is not safe. Do not use string or plastic that can burn or melt. Use wire that will secure it in place. Using wire to hold it into place makes it a whole lot safer.

For fun this is my brooder in the coop. You can see the red light from the heat lamp at one end. The rest is allowed to cool off as much as it will so they have a cool spot to go to so they don't cook under the heat lamp. Too much heat is a dangerous as too little.
