Hatching
Hi everyone! I'm brand new here and looking forward to getting and giving great advice!
A couple of weeks ago, my three month old chickens were attacked by an animal (best guess is fox). We are down three chickens and one was badly injured. Man, that guy is a champ! I really didn't think he was going to make it, but he's doing amazing. In fact, his injury is almost completely healed. His wound is almost completely closed, and his feathers cover it completely. Now he's getting antsy, totally letting us know at all hours that he's not happy still being inside.
So, here's my question: How should I reintroduce him back into the coop? I've read on other threads that you should do it by socializing next to each other, in an area separated by chicken wire. But, I only have the one run, so no separate areas are possible. What other options are there? Could I just stick him in there at night like you would with baby chicks?
Thanks for the help!
