I have some of my own orp eggs and silkie eggs along with some shipped eggs in the 'bator. All eggs were due tomorrow to hatch..well that is day 21. So far I have one silkie that hatched yesterday sometime...I didn't check the bator till after dark and it was half dry. Another silkie egg is pipping. Now it is ok for me to leave the hatched silkie in there until Sat. isn't it? I don't want to open the 'bator and ruin my hatch. I know they can survive for three days without food or water so I am assuming I can leave any that hatch in there till then?
Thanks in advance...just feeling a little insecure here.

You could leave it there up to 3 days, but I generally remove mine when they are dry. I don't think I've ruined a hatch by quickly reaching in for the dry ones. Just be sure the brooder is warmed and ready.

ETA: I prefer to have at least 2 chicks in the brooder. If there is only one chick hatched and dried, at least in the incubator it can still hear peeps of the hatching ones and feel less alone.

thanks all, these shipped eggs are very, very important to me to get hatched. They were delayed for four days with the post office...but I won't go into that topic
