When to remove heat lamp?

How do you wean them off the heat lamp? And what age? Do just point it away from them more more or shut the lamp off for short amount of times increasing the length it’s off? Thank you for any advice

Weaning should be done gradually the entire time they're in the brooder - so every 5 to 7 days (give or take), the heat output should be reduced.

Reduce the heat output by raising it higher from the brooder, using a dimmer, or swapping out the bulb for a lower wattage one.

You should be decreasing the temp of the brooder by 5* each week, approximately. So weaning should be done over the course of 6 weeks, or until they go outside.
