We have had one of our Golden Comet hens that went broody, sitting on 3 of our duck eggs. Last evening she hatched all three [IMG] How long should you let the surragote mother stay with the ones she hatches? I'm hoping that since she has now hatched something that she will get back to normal. Right now she is playing the part of mom and keeping the babies rounded up and warm under her. She wont let them get very far or she runs them back under her. When should we remove her and put the babies in the brooder?

Just let her keep them. She's having a good time being a mom! If the babies start getting chilled, bring them in.
