    Hey all,

In anticipation of the arrival of my chicks in March, I was just thinking. Will the hatchery separate the cornish from the rest of my chicks? If not, at what point should I separate them? Do I need separate brooders or can they spend those first days together?

I imagine they can spend the first few days together. The broilers need a higher protein feed than the other chicks and they should be limited to 12 hours of feed and 12 hours without per day starting at a week to ten days.

Thank you. I didn't see what it could hurt for the first few days, but wasn't quite sure at what point they needed to be separated. Thanks for the reply!

I usually separate them at 1 week old.
