when to start feeding laying mesh

I have 18 week old RIR that have not started to lay i was wanting to know whne should they be put on laying mesh. They are all on flock rasier rite now mostly because i feed it to the meat birds.

I started when mine we 18 weeks. My layer is 20% protien though so they did not loose that when switching.

20 weeks or first egg, whichever comes first. Give or take a week or so shouldn't make much difference.

I wait until the first eggs are laid, regardless of age.

I ran out of grower feed when my chickens were 19 weeks old. I switched. My first egg came a week later.

why do most people wait in till they start to lay eggs??
