When to start feeds

When should I switch from the chick feed to the layer developer feed and then to the layer feed?

Your feed company, the company that makes the feed you have chosen, either prints their preferred, suggested or alternative feed chart on the bag itself, or will have it for sure, on their website. Since each "step" is determined by that said feed company and their formulation, I can only give you a general overview. Consult your feed company's website.


Starter 0-9 weeks
Grower 9-16 weeks
Layer 17 weeks and thereafter.


Some companies only produce a Starter/Grower combination product and suggest feeding it until 18 weeks and then Layer.
