When to start layer feed?

My oldest chickens are 14 weeks old. At what age should I start feeding them Layer feed? The rest of my chickens are younger (7 and 9 weeks) so would it be okay to mix Layer and Grower together? They all eat from the same feeder and are free range, so I couldn't really try to get them to eat from separate feeders.

You won't want to give the younger ones Layer feed. You could just put out free choice oyster shell for the older ones when they get to laying age and keep feeding them all grower until the younger ones catch up.

If they share a feeder keep them all on the starter.

So I should keep them on Grower? I only have one hen out of my older group, the rest are all roos anyway.
