When to stop rotating jumbo coturnix eggs?

Have to agree. ALL of my Coturnix have 16-18 day incubation periods, with most of them popping around day 17.I usually put my eggs into the bator at night and drop on the 15th day, usually early in the day..I have Tibetans, Italians, and Jumbo Texas A&M, Hubby deals only with the Jumbo Brown Pharoah. All of his eggs are on the huge side, with the occasional smaller egg and maybe 2-3 white/light/solid colored a week.I've kept a tag on the ones that hatch from 'discolored' eggs and haven't noticed any abnormal type hatches...ie: males, females, larger or smaller.just pooped out a diff colored egg.... maybe EE quail...lol.

Thanks guys, I put the eggs in on January 14th at 11am. I'll remove the egg turner on the 29th.

I just candled them and it looks like only one of them is doing well, the other two have very small cracks which I couldn't even see until candling them. I Candled a few more and it seems I have several with these hair line cracks. Could this be something I've done wrong (humidity etc) or is it the obvious answer that something impacted them? I've been very careful with them since they've been in my care and they were only a few hours old when I got them.

Also, is there an easy way to mark a chick once it hatches to keep track of it?

LIGHTER COLORED BIRDS CAN BE MARKED WITH PERMANENT MARKER (WHICH NEEDS TO BE REAPPLIED FREQUENTLY) DARKER CHICKS EH NOT SO MUCH... ONCE ADOLESCENTS YOU CAN MARK THEM BY BANDING WITH SMALL ZIP TIES OF DIFFERING COLORS... I WOULD NOT DREAM OF DOING IT BEFORE THEY ARE ALMOST GROWN

Just let them be chicks for about 4 weeks. A coturnix eternity. Then whip out the "Sharpe" and zip ties. All of which I deploy!

Wow, I really should have listened to you guys, the quail are currently hatching. Two out so far. I decided to wait an extra day to pull out the turner so I removed it at 11am today. With in an hour and a half I had 2 little quail running around they incubator, hopefully more will hatch here soon. So my question is, how much harm did I do by rotating the eggs until an hour before the hatch? Humidity was a touch under 50% until I upped it just before the hatch. It's currently at 75%.

Well I really hope an extra day of egg turning didn't hurt anything because the two that have hatched think the unhatched eggs still need to be turned.
