Hi all, weird question. I got a hen cheap because she was the last one I wanted and had vent gleet, which the seller didn't want to deal with (hence the bargain price). It had a smell and I could see the white discharge and runny poop on her feathers but I figured it wouldn't be too much trouble to treat her for it while she was separated from the main flock for quarantining anyhow. I soaked her three days in a row in warm epsom salt water, which seemed to help out, and then the past couple days I wasn't able to keep doing it because the weather turned abruptly near-freezing and I didn't want her to be outside with a wet butt (my hairdryer has mysteriously vanished and also I didn't want to freak her out even more as she's new to this whole 'people handling me' idea).
I checked her today and she has a couple poo streaks on her butt fluff, but nothing like before (it was quite wet under there), and I can't really see the white goop or smell the smell she had when I first brought her home. Am I supposed to resume soaking her anyhow, now that it's warm again? Or should I just stop and just check every now and then to make sure it doesn't come back? I'm suspicious, like this went away too quickly, but I'm sure she wouldn't mind if I stopped since bringing her inside the house and soaking her has been a little confusing for this new girl.
