when to worm chicks

Our flock has 1 year old and 2 year old chickens. I do regular fecal checks at the vet and they've all come back clear so far, so no worming. Chicks are very, very, very VERY unlikely to have developed any worm load in 7 days (!) or 3 weeks of life.

if you use a gentile wormer like pyrantel pamoate, you can worm at 2 weeks old. I gently as i can force their beak open and using a needleless syringe, i put one drop on pyrantel pamoate under their pointy lil tongue. Pyrantel is safer because it is not a poison ( it wont kill the worms) instead pyrantel paralizes the worms and they are expelled thru the vent. I use it 3 weeks in a row on the same day of the week to make sure. pyrantel does not cover tape worms.
