You're not crazy....my grandmother would take some tobacco, spit in it to make a paste, then apply the paste on my sting. It felt better!I may be crazy when i work on the farm usually get bit by mosquito i light a cigarette and burn the spot it helps stop the itching right away.

I am anaphylactic with Wasp or Hornet maybe talk to your dog about epi pen?
I don't think dogs can be of much help, Penny?nice typo.
Dogs always help me , make me smile, she is there when I need her. She won't help with a wasp sting. But she sure is wonderful to have around! I hope the swelling goes down, good luck.

The dog would love to lick it to make it feel better.
I'm not sure if it was the spit, or the tobacco that made the sting feel better. The enzymes in saliva from either dog or human would work to break down the proteins in the wasp venom.
Anjan, glad you are feeling better. Sounds like you had quite the reaction. Beware, b/c your next sting may be worse yet!
Thanks for the advice will keep that in mind, i still got to work on the farm. 20 or so banana plants, 5 mango plants, a fig, pomegranate, Jack fruit plants, pine apple, drum stick plant (Moringa oleifera), Curry leaf plant, Habanero Peppers etc.
I still did not figure out how to keep grass and weed control around plants.
The chickens will help some, by eating seed heads at the end of the season, but if you don't use herbicides, much of this weeding will have to be done by hand.
In addition to previously stated, you can plant cover crops to suppress weeds - most clover or vetch will work....or you can use layers of newspaper or tree leaf litter; or a combination of the above. The chickens will help some, by eating seed heads at the end of the season, but if you don't use herbicides, much of this weeding will have to be done by hand.
