When will a duck go broody?

Shes got a clutch of 5 or 6 eggs in a nest, she goes tot he same nest every day to lay, then she leaves and never gives them a second look. How many eggs before she goes broody??? THey are fertile, I checked one last week. Shes starting to irritate me!

I have a cluth of 10 eggs and I am still waiting as well. She has pulled out feathers to make her nest and still she is not setting. Is feather pulling a sign she is getting ready ?????

Yes it is! I would be so happy if mine were pulling feathers, but as it is she lays an egg and then takes off for the swamp out in our pasture all day. She does know to come in and lay her egg each night... grrrr silly ducks!

I got six eggs as of this morning nobody is sitting yet. I dont even know if they both lay in it or if it is just one off them. I hope they stop at 15.
