When will he want to eat?!

So some of you know im hatching some ducklings, well, one hatched last night, and I took him out this morning, and tried to feed him, but he isnt interested! Will he eat if he needs it?

Yes they will catch on and start acting on their own. Remember they absorb the yolk (which is why hatcheries can ship day olds) and this will sustain them the first couple of days. Try to not remove new hatchlingsfrom the bator until all eggs have hatched so not o lower the temp/humidity and possiblly shrink wrap the remaining eggs. I would bet this is even more important in cold regions during the winter when the air is even drier. As a posed to here where we are warm and humid even today.

and the humidity, has never gone lower then 70% so they are ok...

Mix a little water in the food and make it sort of a mush. Thats what i had to do to get my 3 day olds to eat. And so did the person that hatched them!
