The 3rd tuesday of the 4th equinox during the 2nd 1/2 of spring stolstice, but only if it fall on an uneven #ed day, like 11.
If you get an even #ed day, youll have to wait for the next consecutive leap year.
Its relative . . .

I have 8 hens and 6 pullets. My hens stopped laying around the end of November and haven't started up again yet. Most of them are 3-4 years old by now though so I expect that. I don't have any roos.

My 2 Welsummer and 2 Buckeye pullets I hatched out myself last April. So they are 11 months old. The combs on the Welsummers are red, and I keep expecting to see an egg, but no! I am very frustrated. It is getting warmer here now, and the days are getting longer, I don't know why they haven't started yet.

I also have 2 newer pullets (Speckled Sussex and Austrolorp) that are just 20 weeks old, so expecting an egg from them in about another month or so.

Hmmm....how old was she when you got her? I have a barred rock who hatched on Sept 21st and she laid her first egg 3 weeks ago. After a couple of weeks of letting her body "sort things out" she has become very consistent and has laid every day now for the past week or so.

Sorry to hijack but I just posted a thread this morning about Buckeyes to which there have not yet been any responses so...where did you get your Buckeye hatching eggs?

I got them from BuckeyeDave here on this forum. I had a 100% hatch rate with his eggs (from the viable ones that went in the bator). I butchered my roos and they were tasty and sold the other pullets. The two that I have left are my non-layers

Alright I'm one of those who is impatiently waiting for my RIR to start laying. This is my first time with chickens so I think I'm entitled to be impatient...haha. I go out several times a day on an Easter egg hunt but no luck....still waiting impatiently but love it!
