When will my Buff Orpington Lay?

So I know I shouldn't be so anxious about my pullets laying eggs, as it's literally a waiting game, but I can't help but be curious and in need of your opinions!

This is Phoebe, she is currently 5 months old.

I noticed her comb and wattles have grown considerably in about 3 weeks. This was her prior:

Does this mean she's getting closer to laying?
I know for a fact she won't squat for me, as I read somewhere that they usually don't squat for people if there's a rooster in the flock, which there is.
I haven't heard much of an egg song yet, but I've seen her exploring the nesting box.
When do you guys think she'll lay? ​

i don't know for sure but my chickens started at about 7 or 8 months so yours may start soon

It does depend on the day length they are exposed to so if they are young in winter they'll wait for the daylight hours to lengthen before they start laying. My Orpingtons were all around 6 months old before they started laying. Hopefully she won't keep you waiting too long.

I have 3 orpingtons. They were all about 5.5-6 months coming into lay in the summertime.
Light and length of day do have a lot to do with it though.
She's on her way and she's looking good. Give her another month or so. Her comb will be vividly bright RED. She's still a touch pink.

Oh goodness. I was beside myself when it finally happened!!!
I sat outside the coop, with the nesting box door open, on a day close to 100 degrees (the sweat was POURING OFF OF ME) and kept my first girl COMPANY, for over an hour while she laid her first egg.
Thinking back ... not so sure she appreciated it.
She whimpered and cried the whole time.
Maybe she just wanted me to LEAVE HER ALONE!!!!

I’m in the same situation as you, and in Florida also. My BO is 25 weeks, just squatted for real a few days ago and the comb and waddles are redder than last week but no egg yet. 2 of her flock mates just started to lay on 12/28, I have 1 Leghorn laying she was 22 weeks and 1 Golden sexlink laying (3 days now) at 24 weeks. I have 10 hens and no roosters- still waiting for 8 more to start laying. RIR, EE another Leghorn, black sexlink and the BO (23-25 weeks).
