When will my californias lay??

I have 6 female, 1 male California quail living outside here in CA. When about can I expect them to start laying? . They're all 1 year old this month.

They should start laying sometime this month or early next month. First year layers can be late to lay. Hang in there!

Mine started last week I have 3 pairs together

Now I was told. These pair off as one cock will service one hen so trios don't work. See your problem I hope yours is pretty randy he's got to do 6.
I'm not sure the truth in that but 4 people all said the same thing to me...

Can you let me know how you get on how fertile the eggs are etc?
I'm just interested As I wanted the same as you. More hens then 2 cocks (just incase one dies)

I'm in the uk. So weather here's is mild. Clocks go back so longer days of light.
Apart from last tues it snowed lolol
