When will my chicken lay??

I don't know how old she is... Im Guessing 5-6 months... She is driving me bonkers because I have been waiting every day for an egg... She is on layer pellets... I am hoping for a Halloween present lol

I'm not the most experienced on this board, for sure, but her comb and waddle seemed nicely formed and bright red, which in my experience means that she should start laying any day now

Some birds are just late bloomers. By the redness of her comb and wattles, I'd say she's close though!

I am just worried that she is not squatting at her age.. There is no rooster either .. Do all hens squat?? She is very dominant of the other hens..

She has been laying for six days!! Thankyou!.. I also have an EE that laid a green egg yesterday!!

Congrats! That's awesome! I have 3/4 hens laying, and the last one should be laying any day now. She's actually doing "the squat" when I come near. It's super exciting to get that 1st egg!

All of mine are squatting... I am not sure if my buff Orpington is laying ... She has been squatting for 2 weeks... I only get one brown EEG a day though... Never missed a day so far..
