when will my chickens lay?

hey! i just got 6 week old buff orpingtons and barred rocks. one of the barred rocks is about 7 weeks though. i wanted to know when they will start to lay. also in your experience when will my buffs go broody? i got them specificly for that purpose. and will barred rocks go broody often or not?

I have one of each and they both started to lay at about 5 1/2 months. Mine are 9 months now and no broodiness.

I have one BO and 2 barred rocks. My BO just laid her first egg today at 19w3d and my barred rocks that are the same age are very close to laying. Feels like forever but its so awesome to find those first eggs!!

My girls are 3 months when will they lay? I have a buff, wyondotte, Americana, and Rhode Island Red?

my RIR layed at 4 1/2 months and my ameracana layed at about 6 1/2 months

they start laying about at 6 months for some od reason i think my chickens are just 4 months in layed 1 egg i saw it i was surpised
here she is she layed the egg!!!1
