When will my cockerel start laying?

My Light Sussex cockerel is about 13 weeks old. When will he start laying?

Cockerels don't lay, only hens and pullets do. A hen will usually start to lay around 4-7 months, sometimes longer in the winter.

His eggs can be found on the floor of the coop. They tend to be black. Cook like black pudding, absolutely delish!
