When will my turkies and chickens start to lay?

Both sets are 7 months old today?

also ..mother wants to know ,,,, can she kill a turkey even if it has began to lay eggs , she thinks the turkey hen will be too old if it has began to lay eggs ???

Most turkeys start to lay the spring after they turn 6 mos old. Chickens usually start to lay as 6 mos too but that can vary depending on time of year.

For chickens they will be on the tuff side when they are old enough to lay eggs and you butcher them. SO it takes extra work for resting and soaking in brine.
For turkeys they same is true.

Rest them for at least 48 hours and soak in a mild brine solution for while resting.
