I usually crack 2 to 3 eggs to be sure. But technically I don't need to cause my rooster is always jumping on one of the hens in front of me. Which gets a little annoying to see.

Good job you have a back up planOh I wish. I have some silkie fertile eggs as a back up that has a very active roo fertilizing them. I would just like to see some olive eggers hatching!
I certainly hope he's not mounting them every 15-20 minutes.All you have to do is watch them for about 15 to 20 minutes and I promise ya will see him trying.
