when will they be ready to go out?

My ducklings are 3 weeks old. Do they have to be fully feathered like chicks ? About how long does it take I know they grow much faster. I need to make sure the pen is ready.

I put ours out about 3 weeks. it depends on your night temp. ducks are very hardy and can handle colder temps than chickens. yeah if your planning on putting them, out just be sure their home is nice and secure. good luck!

My baby is out and she has been out with the gosling for 2 nights now and they are 21days old today. I put hay out in the she shed to sleep on and they have been outside during the day with the 8wk. old pekins. They seem to be establishing their pecking order but thats normal from what I gather.
I believe that ducklings are stronger and hardier than one thinks.

So they are locked up tight in the shed at night and out in the outside pen during the day. Our temps here in the seattle vary greatly but have not been below 48-50 deg. at night and its been a comfortable temp. during the day.
