When will they lay????

I have 11 month old buff orps that have only laid a total of 4 eggs the entire time they've been here

I have 3 sets of hens at different ages and my hens that are 24 weeks of age just now started to lay little treasures and I got so excited when I went to the hen house and collected my eggs I go so excite because I've been waiting since they were 22 weeks of age it seems like when i got rid of my aggressive roos thats when they started to lay theyre eggs. My older hens are teaching them where to lay there eggs and I just pick them out of the laying boxes but I had to really look for them because they are small eggs or what I like to call them my little treasures.

If I were you I'd be looking very hard for a secret stash under a bush or something...

I've searched their coop and their run anxiously for the past 6 months now..... I only chose them because they were supposed to be decent layers and friendly. They are friendly.....overly friendly at times but they sure don't lay

I think everyone's are but mine. No surprise here though. Rarely do any of my hens lay and I have no idea why......they all have access to laying pellets, water, they have runs to eat grass (can't free range, too many hawks and dogs), they get sun..... ??

hmmm... still not laying but I will keep checking. I have added a light from about 6:30 to 9:30 at night to keep up with their daylight demands. 14-16 hrs is adequate right?
