My white pekin (female) and khaki Campbell (male) are both about 10 weeks old and molting for the first time. When will they start trying to mate and when will the pekin start laying?

How much sunlight are you getting?

Egg laying time can be a hit or miss. I've heard they can lay as early as 14 weeks or as late as 6 months. Mine usually seemed to start laying around the 5th month.

They are free range until dusk every day. We live in the woods but they love to sun on our deck. Parts of our yard get sun from sunrise to sunset. Their pool is also in full sun. Their coop also has a wire front that faces the sunrise.
