When will they start laying? (pictures attached)

I am curious if my BO and RIR will be laying soon. They are 18 weeks old. My rir has a huge red comb and wattles. My BO has a huge body, like a full grown chicken.

Chickens usually start laying about a week after they being squatting submissively. That might be a good indicator for you.

They aren't squatting yet so i guess it will take longer than a week

Your RIR could start any day now. The Orpington still has a bit more comb and wattle to develop so a least another couple weeks for her.

Oh thank you! I have 3 older hens that are currently laying and they started layin @18 weeks so i thought my last batch would do the same... But i guess not.

I'm excited ti see my rir's first egg! Can't wait!
