When will they start?

Hello, I have 2 months old chicks. When will they start laying?

At like 5-6 months

x2, but since they are growing up in the summer and will start laying in the winter, they might not lay until next spring (i have the same problem

Chicks that come into Point of Lay in November has a tough row to hoe. The daylight hours are minimal in North America, at that time of year. Many folks choose to provide some pre-dawn light, using a timer, to assist them. Others, take the au natural approach. It's a choice.

i take the natural approach. Although that suspends eggs for a few months, i like natural better.

Well, if you're near or above the 45th Parallel, then you'll have to make decisions about whether you're going to provide some artificial lighting during our looooong, darrrrrrrrk winters. LOL Geeeeesh it gets dark up here and stays dark for many months, doesn't it?
