Some people just have chickens, and some people raise chickens..some people get a sense of pride in the things they have some people couldn't care less as long as it served its purpose, I myself don't think people should confuse standard Dark Cornish with the commercial broilers, just like people don't like production reds being confused with heritage rhode Island reds, and they are a lot closer in their heritage than the Cornish and the commercial broiler are by a long shot.Beekissed,if your happy with misrepresentation of breeds, then so be it,but to cause so much controversy, and to incorporate unrelated issues into this..well,i don't know what to say about that, you say your a nurse,do the doctors allow you to call the tools they use by common names? do they ask for long pliers or hemostats?do they ask for tweezers or forceps, and if you misrepresented any of their tools wouldn't they correct you? that's all I'm saying...lets stop misrepresenting these birds by calling them some thing there not and by correcting others when they don't know the difference.
Deary, I think you are looking for someone else to blame on that one. I didn't incorporate unrelated issues into anything. It was the other anal retentive guy that did that.
I don't giving a flying fling about "misrepresentation" of breeds of chickens. And those doctors of which you speak? It's the nurses that keep THEM straight on the proper names and uses of tools....how naive you must be that you think that doctors are somehow more correct in their terminology than are the nurses.

What we are trying to convey to you, and you just aren't capable of understanding it, is this: It matters not what you call chickens. Maybe in small circles like breeders forums or even at shows, but the general public like you will find on this forum, aren't going to carry the weight of that minor worry around on their shoulders. It's just not necessary. This does not denote a lack of "sense of pride" at all, as you and the other anal retentives seem to imply,it merely denotes a lack of seeing it as a priority.
If you want to point out anything as a lack of preciseness and lack of pride in doing things, you might review your grammar, punctuation, and capitalization first off. Then you can move on to trying to take others to task on their proper terminology.

I'd put my flocks up against your flocks any day of the week for a display of pride, buddy. You dabble in names, I put the pride where it will do the most good.
