Mar....it should be the same procedure I use to inject strychnine into an egg to kill a killer possum. Use a syringe with a fairly small needle. Take an egg hold it up and gently tap a very small hole in the big end on the egg. I used a very sharp ice pick. When you inject more dye than the egg and hold it will "sweat" just like we do. Beads of moisture will pop out all over the egg. When you remove the needle the membrane inside the egg should cover the hole you made and will not leak. By the way, so I would know the poision egg I put a blue ring around it. But I didn't need it. The possum next morning was laying in the nest, dead.
If it worked to kill a possum, it should work to catch a chicken pecker.
