When you hold your baby turkey, does it like to climb to your shoulder

Spartacus is always trying to get to the top of my shoulder, and I'm not sure why. he's like a week or so old.
 
Not sure about all turkeys, but the one I've got (Bourbon red) refuses to stay down. Given half a chance the little guy would be sitting on my head.
 
Yea, mine like to climb as well. I guess they are practicing roosting early.

I don't want to be a buzz kill here but this is from experience. Imagine walking across the chicken yard some nice brisk fall morning. Nice hot cup of coffee in your hand. The leaves are changing and everything is right with the world. Then from it's roost comes that turkey who as a poult used to like sitting on your shoulder and you let him. Only now he is 20 pounds with really sharp talons and wings that will leave welts and bruises on your face hurtling at you at 30 miles an hour. He just wanted to cuddle, but your gonna spill your coffee....
