When your city friends just don't get farm life. :(

I work from 7am to 5pm. My city ordnance does not allow for any build up of waist so it is necessary to clean the duck house daily. As for feeding I have other animals besides the chickens, ie: the rabbits, that absolutely must be fed fresh greens every single day to stay healthy. They are house rabbits and don't go outside unsupervised. So I must tend to them. I also keep the pond very clean because it is a landscape pond that i made into the duck pond and the filter will clog if not kept clean. Yes there are things i could give up to make life easier on me but then i would not be as happy in my yard. I have a set up that is meant for guest but as i said. No one comes over. I have seating, a fire pit, all that and more, even a hot tub. The few city friends i do have that come visit enjoy many of the animals it is just most of them don't try. They want me to make all the effort all the time. View attachment 2310818View attachment 2310827
Well when can I come over?!

Sucks that your friends kind of suck. You've extended your hand, they haven't taken it, and they're showing themselves to be less than friendly. While you don't have to burn any bridges, it may be time to categorize them to the see-them-once-a-season group of gals.

Get on more forums/groups, meet some like minded friends and have a blast with people who get the farm life!

Welcome any time. :celebrate

With the pics you've posted, how can you keep friends away? It looks great! Fun, cozy, entertaining, welcoming. Anyway, I hope you find a like minded group.

The friends I have who understand country/farm life usually come out on a weekend day. We often have "work days" at each other's homes to help with whatever project needs doing. Many hands, light work, and it's always easier with friends. Like the old fashioned barn raising. If we're there and talking, why not weed the garden, move some dirt, whatever? We've done dirty grunt work, talked, laughed, eaten a meal, drunk some beer or wine, and had a blast.
