This HAPPY CALIFORNIA GIRL is now living in gorgeous western Montana. But I will concede I miss CA, until I visit, and have to drive the freeways!!

But, more seriously, I will always miss the Pacific. There's just nothing like it; not even the Atlantic.

Very happy CA girl here! No better way to de-stress than sitting out in my garden and watching my flock scratching for bugs and eating weeds in amongst the tomatoes, and snacking on the grape vines!

I'm interested in being more self sufficient/slow food philosophy, and now have quail too that I hatched 6 weeks ago. I now have an aviary with 11 quail roos that I need to find the gumption to process, since they've begun crowing at ALL hours! I just hope my neighbors can tune them out until their time comes!!

If there's anyone around Davis that wants to try some quail to eat, and get free fertile eggs to incubate when the my 4 hens start laying (any day now) in exchange for helping/holding my hand to process in a few weeks, pm me!!

Out here in the Mojave Desert! My DH is a Marine stationed at Edwards AFB. Loving living in the middle of nowhere, and really enjoying our first time owning chickens!
