Ok so I have 28 week old easter eggers and I have 20 to 22 week old golden comets ( a bit of a disagreement about how old they were when I got them so they have an age range not an age). They have all been on egg laying pellets and/or crumble for 6 weeks. I give them shell, grit, yogurt, veggie scraps, bread scraps, and fruit as treats. I figure they are healthy and fed a good diet I would get eggs. Nothing.

At this point I can put fake eggs in their boxes all day long they just poop on the fake eggs. I spend all my time cleaning out the boxes. Wow can they poop alot. I have 6 boxes and 11 hens due to some technical difficulties getting females. I have a freezer full of males right now. I am almost wondering if they are all males now. That would so be my luck. Should these "gals" be laying by now?

These are some old pics from when they were around 16 to 18 weeks

Golden Comets or maybe red sexlinks at 8 to 10 weeks of age ( sorry my info on these chicks is horrid because I apparently only dealt with dishonest people my first time buying)

I'm no expert, but those all appear to be rather young birds. Younger than they're supposed to be anyway.

I have 5 month old buff orps and brown leghorns and they are just barely starting to lay. I've had them on lay pellets for about a month or more. Just be patient a little long and one day they will suprise you!

Yea those were old pics. Its kinda hard to get on my knees and take pics right now. Pregnant so once I am down there I can't escape the dang rooster fast enough and he is a mean little poop. I'm pretty sure he thinks I am competition or he thinks he is headed to the freezer finally. Those were from 18 to 20 weeks on the eggers and 8 to 10 weeks on the commets. They are now approx 28 weeks on the eggers and 20 to 22 weeks on the comets.

Just getting sick of going in to clean out poop from boxes instead of eggs. Eggs are so much neater and smell nicer.

To help out with cleaning I closed off the nest boxes. I opened them when one of the hens got a bright red comb and wattle and also squatted when I went to throw scratch out. Are your hens squatting and do they have bright red wattles and combs? I think that's the sign of maturity and that eggs will appear soon or at least that was my experience.

Anytime now you should be getting eggs. My girls like the crumbles better than the pellets but that probably doesnt matter. My EE's started laying at 17 & 18 weeks old and people were kinda suprised by that. They were still on their non medicated started/grower. I read on here somewhere that the girls seem to lay earlier on non medicated feed. I just never used medicated because i thought it was like taking medicine when you werent sick. I dont know if that had anything to do with them laying at 17 weeks or not. Ive heard that its not good if they lay to early, they may have problems later.
