We're in kirkwood and getting ready to get our first flock. I'm reading that there are no limits on the number of hens we can have in kirkwood. Any kirkwood chickens out there?

I am also in Kirkwood looking to start first flock later this spring. Looks like only regulation Kirkwood has is no Roo's...

Well I have good news. I just talk with the code enforcement officer for Kirkwood Carol, I think her name is said that there are actually no restrictions you can have a roo. She just said that that's the only complaint she ever receives his noise from a roo. She said to just make sure that your neighbors are okay with them and a rooster will be no problem. There are some coop rules that she was telling me about also.

Good to know! Dare I inquire what coop rules need to be followed?

They're actually not very difficult. Just make sure to keep it clean if you're inspected and the coop has to be 10 foot or so off of your neighbors fence line and cannot be taller than your main structure
