i haven’t had them too long so don’t know much, wouldn’t 2 female fight if there’s no males?

2 female pigeons will not fight. You cant compare their temperament to humans.
2 male pigeons tend to fight, but if they grow up together from young, they usually will live happily together.
1 male, and 1 female pigeon,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, well prepare yourself for this.

we found a few for adoption they are just too young (we would have to wait for them to wean)

Whoever is giving that information, may also not be very accurate. That is referring to being sexed at very young stage. Determining sex of pigeons is far more difficult than that of chickens. There are some exceptions, and that would be certain genetic color passing to offspring's. That would be considered a sexlink.
