where can i buy chicks online cheap and what breed should i get

i am thinking of buying some chicks online but i don't know where to buy them cheap or what breed i should get please help!

Some of the best hatcheries are mcmurry hatchery and meyer hatchery. Mypetchicken is ok but there have been a few deaths from them recently. As for breeds what are you looking for? Meat? Eggs? Pet? Show?

Then number one is the leghorn who are rated top for egg production. Sex links and RIRs are also great. However, leghorns and sex links are not very cold hardy so reconsider if you live in a cold area. Buff orps are another great breed to look into. They are not just layers but also super affectionate and gentle.

The Production red Rhode Island Red and Buff orpington are some of the best!Although the Buff and Rhode are bossy,but all those breeds are best for brown egg production and companionship.They can lay around 300 something eggs I think a year maybe more IDK.

Ideal Poultry has specials this week on some nice layers. Production Red, Black Sex Link, and Barred Rock pullets are only $1.55 each. Surprise special pullets are $1.50 each. I have Black Sex links and they did fine this past winter with temperatures going down to single digits.
