Where can I find araucanas

Oops, hit Post by accident. I had just decided today to look into the possibility of trying to find a really-truly Araucana rooster or two and start a breeding program of my own. This may horrify you, but I was planning to raise a strain of Easter Eggers, possibly Araucana over GLW or maybe over Dominiques. It's because I really love my EE hens, but it's always kind of a craps shoot, I never know exactly what I'm going to get, and I want some control over that. I guess technically it won't be a breeding program per se because I will always want F1 chicks - chicks whose sire is a purebred Araucana rooster.

I do hope you get to the bottom of the problem in your flock and it proves to be something quickly and easily eradicated, so you can get back to doing what you love to do. I am going to make it a matter of prayer and I'm going to pm you my name and address so you can put me on your waiting list for when you're back up and running again. ~ Blue

I’m not sure of the ethics of giving chicks or chickens away when they might have something that is potentially fatal and so easy to spread vertically and horizontally but I have to cull -not kill- quite a few chickens to get to a feasible number. And I have so many beautiful boys…thing is I would feel even worse if someone else’s beloved chicken caught something from one of my boys. It’s such an awful situation for us.

Understood. But if and when you know your flock is healthy, please remember me.
