Where can I find sand?

Good Morning,
I live in Raleigh, NC and cannot find the kind of sand recommended for use in runs and coops. I've tried local quarries, landscapers, Home Depot, Tractor supply etc etc. Help! Any ideas?

I get mine at a locally owned building supply and they call it “medium sand.” I kept asking for construction sand and no one had it and finally I just asked to see their different types. Luckily I found what I wanted...under a different name.

Ya, it's just a matter of terminology. You just want a washed, coarse sand, not treated with anything. They have it because they use it everyday. They just call it something else.

Try your local concrete yard. They have it in silos ready for their trucks and will just drop it straight from the silo to your truck or trailer. It is just the coarse sand they use in their mix.

I would think “play sand” from any box store would also be ok..?
