Yep that is our pen, but it doesn't currently look like that. That was a picture from last summer. Right now the grass is light brown but we don't get snow here so the ground is never white, just covered in dead grass.

Oh and yep I am not sure about other kinds of peahens but with blackshoulders they have rust flight feathers, but it isn't all rust colored the edges are lined in brown but yes it is close to a male's flight feathers...

Everyone of those picture look identicle to my peahen. I go out there and talk to them. I feed them cat food but when I put it on the ground the run into the shed part of the coop and if I put it on the shed ground than they run out into the run. Haha kinda irratating. I am going to buy some bird netting come summer time. And place it over the chicken coop(shed) so that way they can fly onto the shed and roost. I haven't found any peachicks yet but did find some baby turkeys at my feed store. I couldn't resist and I bought some. I bought 3 and man are the conceeded LOL one of them fluffs its wee lil feathers up like one of the male peacocks outside. It is adorable

One word of warning: I am not sure what your plans are for the baby turkeys, but in case you were planning to keep them as pets... If you bought them at a feed store there is a good chance that they are Broad Breasted. If you plan to keep them, you need to really watch the weight as they grow because they are very prone to leg problems due to thier huge size. Unless you plan to eat them, you'll need to restrict feed as they get older and make sure they move around and get exercise. If they are going to be 'guest of honor' for dinner, don't worry about it. In that case, be careful that you don't get too attached. Hard to do with the endearing personalities...

I know, right! We should try to get together from time to time. I was given a few folks names in the area that breed peafowl. I was so excited! Gonna try to get up with them and visit!

Yeah I had bronze breasted before and they were huge and would wobble. I got them again, because that was all the feed store had but I am going to gve them lots of room (1 acre) to roam free on. I will restrict their food too. We aren't going to them.

Another thing is not to keep your peafowl in the same pen as your turkeys. A lot of people can tell you from first hand experiances that once their turkeys got older they killed the peacock in the pen with them so if you were planning on doing that you might not want to.
