Where can I get a good batch of male broilers..

Where do you re omend I should order a batch of 25 male broilers?


I thinking to raise some and there are so many places I dont know where to choose from

what is your experience whith the hatcheries?

I'm glad you asked the question. I want to know, too. I am psyched from this current experience. I think I'd like to try to order 50 for late summer delivery, grow them out in Sept and Oct in the nice cooler fall Michigan weather. Have a nice stash of chicken in the freezer going into the winter.

I heard a report on NPR at lunch time about how AWFUL the drought is in Texas, OK, and how its going to really make food prices rocket next winter. Seems like good timing to have some meat in the freezer.

We get our birds from Welp. We have been super happy with the quality of the birds and they have great customer service as well.

Hey there. I did some searching on this forum and composed a spreadsheet of the most recommended hatcheries. The companies listed are generally recommended by folks that raise broilers for a living.

Welp for me. Having shipping included lets you know your true cost of each bird, and I have had good survival. We pushed a batch to 10.5 weeks that was butchered this past June and had a number of birds exceed 8lbs, with our biggest hitting 8.5lbs.

Whelp for us too. We won grand champion with one last year at our fair. It was the best $600 fried chicken I've ever had.
