Where can I get mealworms?

Those could be soldier fly larve. Great composters. Chickens love them too.

I'm scared of giving garden worms to my chickens since I read about gapeworm. I realize they may dig up their own and eat them, but no where near the quantity they would if I fed them as treats.

I fed mine a bunch of june bug grubs this evening. The big hens got quite a few. Dug a few more before I went out to get the chicks, and since there were only 4, well I put them in the center of a watermelon rind, with a little chick feed on top. And they didn't touch them.
So I dropped a grub into the feeder, and Thelma the curious grabbed it and was off... (I have never named a chicken before, but she says her name is Thelma...)

The rest of the grubs didn't last 10 minutes.
