Just to clarify-

What amount of goat Fenbendazole (Panacure) would you use in a 5 gallon water container to deworm chickens/guineas/peafowl?
I individually dosed all my chickens (approx. 65 birds) last fall and would like to find an easier alternative this spring. Thanks for any help...

If you use Safe-Guard for goats it is 2cc to 3cc per gallon.

I wouldn't treat 5 gallons at a time unless you took all there water from them the night before so you knew all were drinking the next day, what we do is treat 1 gallon waters so we know that they are drinking and the heat (sun) don't break down the wormier.

I used 3 cc per gallon and mine are 5 gal. , but they go thru 5 gal per day. Safe guard for goats. like Steve said no other water. If they dont drink all the water I would make a new batch the next day.

Thanks- I use granular panacure and yogurt to dose everybody- it was really messy. I used ivermectin by mouth this spring (0.1ml/10pound bird)- not so messy, but nice to rotate dewormers. Probably the wrong forum, but I had chickens scratching feathers off around their necks/head. I could not see any lice/mites on skin and this was the only location for feather loss. Ran two fecal float samples with no eggs seen. (Last fall- heterakis and roundworm type eggs found) Used Ivermecin on the assumption of gape worms? The scratching has stopped but it will take awhile for feathers to regrow. My poor Brahmas look a little ragged for now. Next time will be panacure in water!

Flubenvet is the best, and there is no egg withdrawal if it is correctly mixed. Trouble is, they've changed the rules in England and it's really hard to get it for a backyard flock. Anyone know of online sources in the US where I could order some?
