Where did this egg come from?!

That’s extremely weird. Like really weird. If it where a normal sized egg I would have said a hen got over there and laid it, or pushed it over there or something strange. But the fact that it’s so small... could it be? I think it might have fallen out of the nest of a bird, not a chicken. But it if really could be from one of your chicks, possibly the oldest, the olive eggers even tho that is not the right egg color, so for egg color, then RIR.
It freaked me out!!😂 The thing about "Ollie", is that we have no idea if that chick is a male/female and Ollie is a promised OE from ebay hatching eggs so it's a roll of the dice! If it's a RIR, she's going to give us a ton of eggs I guess?! 😂

Haha yes! fingers crossed 🤞 for a pullet! Your RIR is just trying to impress you 😂

I found a tiny egg in where I have some young chicks, separated from the rest of the flock! The chicks are:
Olive Egger(who knows though) 7wks 4days
Seabright (caught it crowing!) 6wks 1day
3 SilkiexEE mixes 5wks 3days
3 RIR 4wks 2days
I could only upload 1 pic of the RIR's...
There's hardware wire on all sides but the floor and the hardware wire on the ceiling is covered in rubber. The egg was under where their practice roosting bars are.
What is going on?? Is it possible that one of them laid this?!
If it was a quail i would say its a first attempt at a egg but they look like chickens so idk im guessing it is

That's the one I was talking about.
Can you get a picture of your set up?
Here's some pics of our thrown together playpen😂 it's ugly, but it keeps the tweens safe from everything and I can hose off the floor at the end of the day :) It's hardware wire all over and solod wood on the bottom (off of one of our decks.) The big chickens can come over and see their soon to be flock mates but can't get at them (Or at the roosting bars in the dog crate where the egg was found!) The Seabright can walk right out through the hardware wire but only does it quick lol! He actually crowed while I was getting these pics😊

That is welded wire not hardware cloth. The gaps are plenty big enough to have a grown bird above drop a fart egg in there....or even a regular egg.

I think you have someone playing a joke on you.

Design is good.
Did the egg have a yolk?
