Where did you get your chicks?

Oh gosh, mine have been collected from all over.

Our founding flock came (as two groups about a month apart) from a local farm that sells chicks every year.
The next addition came from the farm our friend buys meat goats from. They were a few weeks old though.
We've ordered some from McMurray and been pretty pleased.
We bought a few recently to break a broody at the feed store, but I think they use McMurray as well.
We also let broodies hatch their own, but that entails little roosters.

I got my Meaties from Meyer Hatchery. Very pleased with delivery and quality of the chicks.

I ordered mine from Chickensforbackyards.com. So far they seem fine. This is our first time raising chickens so we are keeping our fingers crossed.

I bought my three at Orscheln's they had a huge selection of chicks and the people seemed very knowledgeable about chickens in general and local laws as well. Plus I didn't have to buy six chicks. I was able to buy just three. Which is great since we are only allowed two without a permit within city limits so I got a spare just in case of course they all lived. Darn that Murphy I'm sure if I had bought just two chicks I would have lost one.

I got my chicks from a local farm store that orders them from several different hatcheries.

5 came from TSC.
10 came from local feed store. The guy who owns the store said they came from a local place here in wv.
2 came from some lady selling them outside of grocery store ( yeah bad me but I felt bad for them) they are doing great have them almost 2 weeks.

I started my flock from Other breeders and respected chicken elders, never bought a bird from a Hatchery or a farm store that sell's Hatchery birds, never have never will.
