I would like to buy some Easter Eggers next spring. I was not happy with the last batch I got mail order and there is really nobody local that I know to buy from.

Can anyone suggest the best place to get some blue/green egg layers?

I hatch mine in an incubator

Keep an eye on the forums here, there's a section where you can purchase day old chicks. I see a lot of EE's there.

Contact halo and hatch your own. She has wonderful EEs, some are 1/2 true Ameraucana and lay beautiful blue eggs. I have one from her, sold or gave the others to friends, but had a pullet-heavy hatch to boot. They are lovely birds.

Not sure where you are located, but she is near Ocala, Florida if you're close enough to pick some up.

I am in Texas. I used to have some full Americaunas at our old house that weren't very friendly but they had beautiful green eggs. I would love some blue layers. In the spring I will keep an eye buy/sell/trade! Thanks for that information. I don't have and incubator to hatch my own :(

Ameraucanas should lay only blue eggs, never green. Are you sure they were Ameraucanas? Mine are much friendlier than any of my EEs have been. I have blue, black and splash.

You really should hatch eggs for yourself. There's nothing like it! And sometimes, it's the only way to get what you really want.

I might've meant Aracaunas if those are the funny looking ones that come from Mexico and I guess the color could be called blue, but I always called them green...like a teal kind of color. I also call my light brown eggs pink, so I probably don't use the correct terminology. They came from a lady who sold them to ag kids to show, so I was told they were full but who knows. They weren't nearly as friendly as the little production reds I had at the time who would roost on my shoulder and acted like lap chickens, though. I just liked the colored eggs.

I don't have an incubator to hatch my own. I am not entirely sure I have the patience to not ruin the hatch and would feel horrible if I killed them all because I couldn't leave them alone! Maybe someday, when I learn some self-control.

I just don't know many people around here who have chickens to see what I would be getting. I would like to find a reliable source.
