Where do I put my cockatiel

I’ve been planning on adopting a cockatiel for quite a while but I have a problem. I have a spare room where there’s lots of sun but if I had the cage there the bird wouldn't have much socialization. The other area I have is in a more populated area of the house but there are no nearby windows and it’s pretty dark. So my question is, should I keep the bird in the spare room or in the other area of the house?
A solution that I’ve come up with to brighten that dark area of the house is to put a lamp but i’m not sure if that would meet the sunlight needs of the bird.

Birds like windows. I recommend your room or something like that. Somewhere where the bird has light and activity. I am also adopting a cockatiel, on Sunday!

Is there any way to make the room sunnier? Open some blinds or curtains. The bird would be happiest with people, you will be his flock

There are no windows nearby and the nearest ‘window’ is the back door which is about 20 feet away. I’m thinking of putting the cage there instead but first I would have to move quite a few stuff around.

Do what you need, just make sure that the bird is far away from the kitchen. Any heated teflon pans put off an aroma that can kill birds
