Where do I put the food and water?

You mentioned that your coop is 2' off the ground, but you won't be using that space. I'm wondering why. I have a raised coop, and my run is attached so the girls can go under the coop for shade/shelter. You may want to consider that.
I keep my food and water in the run. They don't need to eat or drink while they're sleeping

. My run is partially covered, and they have under the raised coop for shelter also. So the food stays dry, and the water doesn't get the inside of the coop all wet. The only time I bring it in is if there's a really bad storm and I'm keeping the girls in the coop for the day.

Good luck, and

Hi Mimi,
Thank you for your reply. It makes sense to utilize the space under my coop. I was concerned that I couldn't make it predator proof enough. Who knew just a few weeks ago that I would worry so much about the welfare of chickens. :).
Thanks again,
Terry

Thank you everyone for your reply's, I think I'll go with food and water outside. If that doesn't work out I can always change or add to it.
Thanks again, you guys are awesome!

Terry
